Gold to regain record price, GFMS says

Shoprite 6m turnover up 11.9% to R33.1bn
Johannesburg, Jan 13 (I-Net Bridge) - Retailer Shoprite Holdings (SHP) said Wednesday that the group performed satisfactorily in the six months ended December 2009, growing turnover by 11.9% to 33.1 billion rand. Growth on a like-for-like basis was 6.4%.

‘Cautious optimism’ on factory recovery

FACTORY output contracted less sharply than expected in November, suggesting the economy’s second-biggest sector would continue to recover, boosting overall growth.
